iUE AT THE EUROPEAN WEEK OF REGIONS AND CITIES 2025
This week we were in Brussels for the European Week of Cities and Regions, the annual event organised by DG REGIO to shed light on crucial questions faced by local and regional authorities and the EU level policy responses.
Together with TUDelft, we organised a booth in the exhibition space presenting the designs co-created in DUST‘s four Regional Futures Literacy Labs (RFLLs) with communities impacted by the transition. These designs showed how communities envision their region’s likely and desired futures and how these compare to policy futures. We were inspired by the reactions of those who came by, and hope to bring our exhibition to many more places across Europe!
We were also invited by the Greening Cities Partnership of the Urban Agenda for the EU to present the work we are doing together with TECNALIA and European Forest Institute as part of the ESPON GILL project. We shared a first glimpse of the methodology to quantify green infrastructure demand through ecosystem service assessment, and some insights on data gaps.
