JUSTNature's 8th Project Meeting

We attended the 8th and final Joint Project Meeting of the JUSTNature project in Essen in early October 2025. As the project approaches its formal conclusion, the consortium gathered to review the project’s achievements and chart the path forward for equitable, climate-positive urban transformations.

Part of our work on the project’s co-governance and inclusivity pillar, iUE contributed to the interactive session Resources and Action Mapping: Linking Individual Capacities to Wider Change. During the workshop, representatives of the participating cities got together in groups and were given a space to reflect on the tools and learnings they’ve acquired throughout the project. Linking personal agency and individual capacities to co-creation processes and stakeholder engagement, they discussed how they perceive their ability to influence positive change within the structural conditions of their municipalities and work environments, after the years of collective work within JUSTNature.

iUE was also part of the discussions on the dissemination of the project’s results. As part of the communication and dissemination team, we now focus our efforts on sharing the project’s achievements, maximising its impact and ensuring the replication of the main learnings to secure JUSTNature’s legacy. We’re excited to be sharing the project’s findings across various communication channels, including a new podcast series, which will launch new episodes even beyond the project’s end.

We now prepare for JUSTNature’s Final Conference, to be held in Brussels on the 10th of February and in Leuven on the 11th. Register here and don’t miss this collection of talks, interactive workshops, and discussions based on real-world experiences of delivering nature-based solutions and creating urban change that has social justice and co-governance at the centre.
